I had lower back pain on and off throughout both my pregnancies, and it only got worse when the children were little. The biggest problem was pushing buggies. I live in a part of London where I can walk everywhere which is great, but I was permanently hunched and leaning over the pushchair. I didn’t go and see anyone about my back because I thought it was just an inevitable part of my lifestyle, but then I read about MBTs in a Financial Times article. It was so compelling that I sought out a physiotherapist who fitted me with a pair (very few shops stocked them back then), and I have been a devotee ever since.
I’m walking properly, my back problems have gone and my posture is straight. Now that the children are at school I can go to the gym four times a week, but in between those visits I feel my MBTs are very much part of my fitness regime. Last summer we did our first walking holiday with the family and I hiked through the Alps in my MBTs feeling fantastic. |
