I could have saved a fortune on physio bills

Although I’ve run 13 marathons and am a keen cyclist, I’ve had years of back problems which culminated in surgery for a slipped disk last year.

Before that I’d spent a fortune on osteopathy and physiotherapy but nothing really helped. I’d heard friends talking about MBTs, then I saw them on sale in our local Sweaty Betty shop and bought a pair. For a man they’re a real departure, unlike any other kind of fashion or sport shoe. It’s the cushioning that makes your whole body work differently and is very posture-positive.

MBT Shoe

I now wear them most of the time and only slip into normal work shoes for meetings. They have definitely helped with my back recovery, because I’m particularly sensitive to jarring which is reduced when you’re protected by MBTs’ cushioning.

If I work out in the gym and then walk home I can really feel my gym work being reinforced by walking. I think of them as a complementary piece of fitness kit, but above all they’re the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever had.
